Medical Products Direct is proud to finally be able to offer free ground shipping on all orders shipping to continental USA addresses!
Free shipping is something that we have wanted to provide for our customers for a long time but it was difficult due to the great variety in size of our product lines, the different shipping methods and brands that we carry.Summary:
- Free UPS\FedEx\USPS small package ground shipping on all orders shipped to addresses in the lower 48 states.
- Express shipping methods are NOT included in our free shipping offer.(see below)
- Free Standard Freight Truck Item Delivery on items too large for UPS/FedEx to addresses in the lower 48 states. Items may incur additional charges for residential and/or inside deliveries. (see below)
- Orders to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada and overseas US territories must pay actual freight cost (see below).
- No sales tax charged to our customers.
Free Small Package Ground Shipping:
- Our free shipping covers all standard ground shipments made
on all common
carriers (UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL) shipped to a continental US addresses.
Packages over 150 lbs and/or very large packages must be sent
by freight truck and additional cost may be involved. (see below).
Express Shipping Methods are NOT included in the Free Shipping Offer
- Express shipping methods such as Next Day, 2nd Day and Third Day by UPS/FedEx are NOT included in the free shipping offer. We CAN have most products shipped express if you require it but you will need to call us at 1-800-804-9549 to get a shipping quote and place your order over the telephone.
Free Large Item Freight Truck Shipping:
We pay the shipping freight to get the product from our warehouse to the closest business dock. There are extra services that may be required if you do not have a loading dock or if you require help getting the product inside the building. You must pay for these additional services if you require them. All freight truck items are clearly marked on our website. (RECLINING LIFT CHAIRS USE A DIFFERENT FEE SCHEDULE, SEE DETAILS AT BOTTOM OF THIS SECTION)

- Free Standard Freight Delivery: Our free shipping policy covers the charges on standard "Dock-to-Dock" freight deliveries from our warehouses to business docks or freight depots. If you do not have a dock or a forklift to unload the item from the truck you will need to choose one of the lift gate services below.
- Lift-Gate Service Fee $75: If you are having a freight item delivered to a residential address or a business address without a loading dock you must request and pay the $75 lift-gate fee in advance. This is the extra amount that freight companies charge us because they have to offload the package into a smaller truck with a lift gate in order to unload at a residential address. You are responsible for moving the product from the curbside into the building/house unless you also request Inside Delivery. ($135 for reclining lift chairs)
- Residential + Inside Delivery Service Fee $150: If you require help moving your item from the curbside to inside a building you must request and pay for the $150 Inside Delivery Service Fee in advance. (This includes the $75 liftgate fee and $75 Inside Service Fee). This means the driver will ASSIST someone at your address in moving the product from the curbside to a garage or other ground level room. If there are stairs or an elevator to get the product inside it will cost extra. If you have obstacles like stairs or elevators please call us to give us the details and we will get a custom quote from the freight company.($235 for reclining lift chairs)
Free Reclining Lift Chair Freight Truck Shipping:
We pay the shipping freight to get the reclining lift chair from our warehouse to the closest business dock. If the chair is going to a residential address there will be additional fees because the chair has to be unloaded and put on a smaller truck with a lift gate.

- Free Standard Freight Dock Delivery: Our free shipping policy covers the charges on standard "Dock-to-Dock" freight deliveries from our warehouses to business docks or freight depots. If you do not have a dock or a forklift to unload the item from the truck you will need to choose one of the lift gate services below.
- Residential Lift Gate Curbside Delivery $135: If you are having a reclining lift chair delivered to a residential address or a business address without a loading dock you must request and pay the $135 lift-gate fee in advance. This is the extra amount that freight companies charge us because they have to offload the package into a smaller truck with a lift gate in order to unload at a residential address. You are responsible for moving the product from the curbside into the building/house.
- Residential Lift Gate Porch/Garage $300: If you require help moving your item from the curbside to the porch or a garage. If there are steps there will be additional charges.
- Residential Inside Main Door Threshold $370: If you require help moving your item from the curbside to just inside the main front door threshold This does not include moving it to an interior room or unpackaging the chair. It simply gets the chair just inside the front door. If there are steps there will be additional charges.
- Residentail White Glove Service $450-$800 Quote Only: The freight company does offer white glove delivery service. This means they will move the chair into the room of your choice, unpack the chair and remove the packing materials from the residence. This service requires you to contact us and describe the delivery locations, how many steps they have to climb, how many doorways they have to navigate to place the chair. We will then get a custom quote for this white glove service before you order your chair. It is quite expensive with fees starting at $450 and going up.
Shipping items to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada and US Territories
We can ship items to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada and US Territories but unfortunately we can not do it on our free shipping program. You will need to call us at 1-800-804-9549 and we will provide you with a shipping quote and take your order over the telephone. If you live in one of these areas I am sure you are aware of how expensive it is to have something shipped via Air Freight and we just could not figure out a way to incorporate the shipping cost to these areas into our free shipping program.
No Sales Tax Charged to Our Customers:
- We do not charge our customers for sales tax. Yes we still have to pay the sales tax to the states but it is absorbed in our cost of doing business. The price you see on our web page is exactly what you will pay when you get to checkout.
Restocking Fees:
I think everyone understands that the actual shipping cost are not free. FedEx/UPS still charges us the same amount to ship the products. These charges are simply absorbed into the cost of doing business just like payroll, rent and other expenses. Prices are usually slightly higher at retailers that offer free shipping but it still usually works out to the customers benefit. There are no surprises when you go to check out and no hidden fees. The price you see in the shopping cart is exactly what you pay.
However, returned orders cost us just as much to process (or more) than successful orders so we have to charge a restocking fee on returned items. This restocking fee covers the shipping cost to get the item shipped to you, packaging and checking the item to ensure it is fit for resales. This restocking fee typically ranges from 30%-35% depending on the manufacture the product shipped from. Even with the restocking fee we usually lose money on orders that are returned. Returns are expensive for us and for the customers so please take whatever time necessary to ensure that you get the right product the first time around. We are available during normal business hours to answer ANY questions that you might have about the product before you place the order.
